This would be a good entry for Peru Fail. I was walking along Larco when I came across this sign on a borded up kiosk that is apparently telling people where the new Kiosk is. I like the fact that they initially forgot the "s" in "Kiosko" and had to stick it in later (Anonymous is probably going to think that was due to the guy being drunk when he wrote it, so he's going to accuse him of being an alcoholic).
Anyway, the world is full of comedians as we all know, so I've included a close up of all the great comments that people left on the sign. Apparently these comments bothered the alcoholic sign maker (his poor family) and when I walked by this spot at a later date, I found the sign had been changed. It's a good thing I took this photo, thus preserving this comic gold forever:

Seriously anonymous, what's your obsession with alcoholism? Meaning no disrespect, but it seems like over the last half dozen or more posts you've really made way too "big deal" out of it to the point where you're sounding obnoxiously redundant. Who gives a shit for Christ sake? Let's not forget that the "Streets of Lima" is Mr. Peru's blog. He's solely responsible for the quality and content of the subject matter. And let's remember our place in the scheme of things, we're simply commenters not saught after advisors on some kind of "editorial board". I take a very libertarian point of view when it pertains to what someone does in the privacy of their own personal lives. As long as what someone does doesn't negatively impact or harm me or my family personally I don't give a damn. I don't pass judgement and pretty much mind my own damn business. Trying to claim the moral high ground in an argument is utter nonsense and moronic. Nobody's perfect, not even close. I like the "Streets of Lima" because it's edgy and irreverant as well as inteligently well written. Anonymous you seem like a smart person, but you need to stop pissing against the wind or you're going to end up soiling yourself profusely.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that you decided to make this comment Mr Dean, because I had really wanted to put the issue aside. Actually, Mr Peru kept the issue alive by making a big deal about some concerns that I had about his drinking issue and by responding with snide remarks, sarcasm, and name-calling. I prefer reasoned discourse, but I guess Mr Peru, whether due to intellectual limitations or alcoholic brain syndrome, is incapable of that. In any event, I've decided to drop the issue completely, unless Mr Peru insists on keeping it alive,Pisco anyone?
ReplyDeleteAgain anonymous, what concern is it of your's if Mr. Peru has a drinking problem or not? NO ONE CARES OR GIVES A SHIT! Do I make myself abundantly clear or do I have to get medieval on you?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
ReplyDeleteI finally had to delete one of your posts. Cool it. For the record:
1. Calling somebody an alcoholic is insulting
2. You can't make that determination about somebody after reading a couple blog posts
Just take a deep breath and come back and play when you're calmed down.
I'm truly an sorry Mr Peru if I lost my cool. I certainly had no malicious intent and realize that absolutely no good will come from pursuing the issue. If I got out of line and hurt anyone's feelings,I APOLOGIZE. I never intended to appear morally superior or sanctimoniousness. If I came off that way,I express my regrets about that, too. I could elaborate endlessly about the entire issue, but realize that there's absolutely no point to that. I've decided to drop the issue once and for all.Can we talk about Peru?
